I cannot recommend Frank Carlson and his services enough. I am the General Manager of Chow restaurant in Danville and we have 2 large beautiful Ficuses within the restaurant.
Frank and his crew designed an irrigation system, planted them and for the last year has done much more than was required of him in looking after the trees, giving advice, coming and checking on them at least 2 times a week.
We also have landscaping around our outdoor patio, which was not part of Altamont Landscape, yet Frank offered me much advice, and suggestions, which I passed on, and the flowers and shrubs have flourished. It is this kind of relationship and service that I value and I highly recommend Frank and Altamont Landscape.

I had the pleasure of working with Altamont on our backyard and was very pleased with them on several levels. They were very responsive to our requests and we felt very comfortable with them from the start. They drew up plans based on our vision and then worked with us during the entire process to ensure we were satisfied. From the pavers we wanted, the type of watering system all the way to the types of plants we wanted, they worked with us the whole way. Their rates were very competitive and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for landscape/hardscape work. Simply put, they were professionals.

My backyard job consisted of a 28 x 20 patio with Calstone pavers, installation of spray and drip irrigation and sod. I contacted 4 different contractors for bids and decided on Altamont Landscaping as my contractor of choice. Altamont's bid was not the cheapest nor was the most expensive. However, Altamont's specification for the proposed work was by far the best. Prior to meeting with each contractor, I did some research on paver installation guidelines recommended by the paver manufactures. As I talked with each contractor and asked them how they would install those materials, Altamont and one other contractor were the only ones who installed pavers per manufacture installation specifications. Further, Altamont was the only contractor who provided superior specs for my drip and spray irrigation. Both Frank (president) and his son Josh were very easy to work with and they took my landscape plan and transformed it into reality. The end result was everything I had expected. Throughout the process, Josh made numerous visits on site to ensure all work was proceeding according to plan, materials were available when needed, and provided me with updates of the project's progress. All of Altamont's workers are very professional, hard working and very experienced & knowledgeable of their trade. I found Altamont very flexible in working with me by allowing me to do some of the work myself to help keep my overall cost down. As an example, I installed 140' of bender board myself (purchased the material from Altamont) and saved almost $700 in labor by going DIY. In addition, Altamont impressed me with those little things they performed at no charge such as installing a drain by my AC pipe so my pavers would not get wet, re-wiring my exiting irrigation leads that had be spliced together with duct tape by the original home builder, providing me with use of their rotor-tiller for my planting area that I was responsible for completing, and re-locating two 4x6 cement slabs that were in the patio area to another location of the house thus saving me the expense of installing concrete in that area. Overall, Altamont is a Class Act!

Small enough to still have great ownership oversight and big enough to have the manpower to take on good size jobs. They deliver on what they promise, always follow up promptly; present the best site maps including exact location of each irrigation fix. Altamont Landscape Services completely transformed my dirt and weed backyard into a tropical paradise. For years we lived in a home where we kept the shutters closed and drapes drawn -- because the backyard had nothing but dirt and weeds. The back yard looks exactly as promised and there were no'surprises'. It's so beautiful! We'd rather hang out in a backyard than go on vacation! With a restricted budget, Frank was able to transform our dirt and weeds into a beautiful backyard that we are excited to add too as time goes on. He had wonderful ideas and taught us so much!
